ttm > The caterpillar feeding on a milkweed plant
ttm > The caterpillar attaches itself to an object and hangs there while internal changes take place
ttm > The skin splits and the Chrysalis is revealed(note the accordianed skin still attached at the top).
ttm > As the butterfly inside develops, the chrysalis becomes more transparent.
ttm > The chrysakis splits and the butterfly emerges. Note the enlarged abdomen and the small wings. Over the next couple of hours the fluid from the abdomen will be  pumped into the wings to inflate them.
ttm > Several hours after emerging from the chrysalis the butterfly with it's wings inflated and dried is ready for its first flight.
